On February 18, a special YAMATO: 2199 event took place at the Yomiuri Hall in the Yurakucho neighborhood of Tokyo’s Chiyoda Ward, featuring members of the production staff. including director Yutaka Izubuchi, and the voice acting cast of the new series. The event spotlighted the actors, music, and new songs, as well as a screening of the first episode (which reportedly gave some audience members goosebumps), and other surprises that thrilled the 1,000 lucky fans in attendance (including an unannounced Isao Sasaki coming out on stage at the top of the show and singing the new version of the theme song).
